It may have been Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee recently, but her Majesty celebrated another remarkable British in from of the anniversary of her honor list. It was announced yesterday that Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, will be receiving an OBE (Order of the British Empire ) for her services to the fashion industry.
Sarah Burton was at the head of Alexander McQueen since 2010, but she grabbed one of the biggest British fashion credits to date when she was chosen to design wedding dress Kate Middleton, Kate's dress that transition from a commoner to a full royal. The designer continued to dress the Duchess during her many official releases.
Alexander McQueen himself, Vivienne Westwood and Anna Wintour are among the past recipients of the fashion industry honors British. This year , the Queen also announced that Kate Winslet will be receiving a CBE(Commander to the British Empire ) for services to drama. Sounds like a pretty bouquet in! Fashionable bunch!
